Ladies and Gentlemen, Family and Friends,
I am Ram Shriram. First and foremost Rajeev was a dear friend to me and my family. Rajeev was soft spoken, patient, thoughtful, brimming with intellect and a deep thinker at many levels on many dimensions. He was also a caring, loving devoted father to his children, Anya and Naitri and to his wife Asha. He had a zest for life and fun, knew how to enjoy every minute of it. I can vividly remember our good times together, whether it was to talk food and wine, what cars to buy, how to raise our kids, managing finances, or talking about Indian politics which had no beginning or end. Rajeev had a photographic memory and seemed to have a limitless capacity to remember people, numbers, events, companies and the like. He was always accessible and approachable. His business acumen rivaled his technical prowess which made him a unique and potent force in the venture community.
Rajeev was a one man institution.
In recent years he became extremely focused on his health and well being, worked out regularly, watched his diet and stayed very fit.. He accomplished a great deal in a short time, which reminds me of a saying “A candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long” and I will miss these bright and beautiful times we had together. I feel lucky to have known Rajeev.
Rajeev’s family is with us tonight. Asha his wife, Anya and Naitri his daughters, sanjeev motwani his brother, poonam gupta Motwani his sister, Bapu and Ba, Asha’s parents are here, Priya and Yashwant Jadeja, asha’s brother and his wife, Karishma their daughter, Shyam Sukramani, Rajeev’s cousin brother, Asha’s cousin Aruna Gohel, and her uncle Mahendra Singh Chudasama are also here. I encourage you to take the time to visit with the family at the reception immediately following this service and share your wonderful memories of Rajeev with them.
The best way to honor Rajeev is to celebrate his life’s work and his great values as a parent, teacher, mentor, researcher, and entrepreneur.
In John L. McCreery's words:
There is no death! the stars go down only To rise upon some other shore, And bright in Heaven's jeweled crown, They shine for ever more.
May God bless his soul.
